(KRON) -- A shooting in Brentwood left two men injured Friday night, according to police. The shooting occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Marjoram Drive near Caboose Park. Police say the men were involved in an altercation before they started shooting at each other. (BCN) -- A former San Francisco building inspector was sentenced Friday to a year and day in federal prison on charges connected to taking bribes, federal prosecutors said. Bernard Curran, 62, pleaded guilty to charges that he accepted cash and charitable donations from developers and property owners whose projects he had responsibility for approving, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California. According to his plea agreement, Curran worked for the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection in 2005 and was promoted to senior building inspector in 2009. WIMBLEDON, England (AP) — Marketa Vondrousova became the lowest-ranked and first unseeded woman to win Wimbledon, defeating 2022 runner-up Ons Jabeur 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday.Vondrousova is a 24-year-old left-hander from the Czech Republic who is ranked 42nd. She was the first unseeded woman to even reach the final at the All England Club in 60 years.Vondrousova trailed in each set but collected the last four games of the first, then the last three games of the second.This is her first Grand Slam title. She lost in the final of the 2019 French Open as a teenager.Jabeur dropped to 0-3 in major finals. TORONTO (AP) — Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman was scratched from Saturday’s scheduled start against the Arizona Diamondbacks because of discomfort in his left side. The team said an MRI revealed no damage and that Gausman is day to day.Right-hander Chris Bassitt is starting in Gausman’s place.Gausman is 7-5 with a 3.03 ERA in 19 starts.
