TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) -- Travis County leaders will gather Wednesday morning to give the public an update on what they call a drug overdose public health crisis in the county, and discuss details from the county medical examiner's 2022 report, which has not yet been released.The update will cover the status of overdose deaths in the county from 2022, including those which were fentanyl-related, according to a release from the county. Travis County leaders -- including Judge Andy Brown, Sheriff Sally Hernandez and Medical Examiner J. (NEWS10) -- A custodian with the Schoharie Central School District was arrested Wednesday morning on child pornography charges not connected to Schoharie students, according to the Schoharie Central School District's website. The city of Los Angeles and police suffered a setback in court Tuesday when a judge declined to issue a restraining order relating to the released photos and data of thousands of LAPD officers. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff rejected the city's request for a temporary restraining order to prevent the information and images to be used by an online database called "Watch the Watchers," a project of the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition, the Los Angeles times reported. The driver who slammed into a mother and her child as they walked to school in L.A.’s Mid-Wilshire neighborhood Tuesday morning was speeding and may have been intoxicated, and he was placed under arrest Wednesday morning, according to police.The crash happened just before 8 a.m. in the 6200 block of West Colgate Avenue, across the street from Hancock Park Elementary.The male driver of a white pickup truck, according to police, was speeding when he struck a woman in her 30s and her 6-year-old daughter in an intersection, struck a light pole, and then crashed into an apartment building.The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her daughter was hospitalized in critical condition late Tuesday.
