BJC Healthcare to merge with KC-based St. Luke's Health System

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis-based BJC Healthcare and Kansas City-based Saint Luke's Health System Saint Luke's Health System are planning to merge and form an "integrated" Missouri-based health system. The two healthcare entities announced signed a non-binding letter of intent with hopes to expand health care access in Missouri and reach more than 6 million patients. SESSER, Ill. - A 12-year-old riding a bicycle was struck by a pickup truck driver Monday afternoon near Sesser, Illinois. Officers were called to the crash on at around 2:15 p.m. They found the 12-year-old suffering from severe injuries. He was flown from the scene by a medical helicopter to get treatment and later died at a regional hospital."Prayers for the family and all first responders involved in this tragic incident," states Sheriff Kyle Bacon.Police say that the truck was going eastbound on State Highway 154. The child on the bike was traveling southbound on Circle M Road and did not stop at the intersection. That is when the truck hit the bike.Several people stopped to help first responders at the scene. A Boulder sex offender indicted by a grand jury and accused of using drugs and violence to force multiple women into prostitution and paying for sex with a 12-year-old girl was formally sentenced on Wednesday after previously entering into a plea agreement.Randolph “Randy” Clark, 39, pleaded guilty May 5 in Boulder District Court to two counts of first-degree assault, human trafficking and attempted sex assault on a child.
