NEW YORK (AP) — Aggrieved and defiant, former President Donald Trump sat through hours of sometimes testy opening statements Monday in a fraud lawsuit that could cost him control of Trump Tower and other prized properties.“Disgraceful trial,” he declared during a lunch break, after listening to lawyers for New York Attorney General Letitia James excoriate him as a habitual liar. The state's lawsuit accuses the business-mogul-turned-politician and his company of deceiving banks, insurers and others by misstating his wealth for years in financial statements.“They were lying year after year after year,” Kevin Wallace, a lawyer in James' office, said as Trump sat at the defense table. He looked straight ahead, arms crossed, facing away from a screen that showed details of Wallace's presentation.Trump denies wrongdoing and voluntarily attended a trial that he called a “sham,” a “scam,” a waste of the state’s time and “a continuation of the single greatest witch hunt of all time...New AI app screens children for autism — and more

CHICAGO — Even after missing the last two full seasons and undergoing three surgeries on his left knee, the Bulls' point guard believes he is far from done with basketball. While some on the outside have cast doubt about that, Lonzo Ball is quite confident that you'll see him on the floor in the future."I definitely plan on playing again," said Ball when asked if he believes he'll play in the NBA again despite 2 1/2 years of setbacks that have kept him off the court. "Like I said, I'm only 25. I feel like the rehab process has been going well so far, no setbacks. For me, it's just keeping my head up and keep doing the work."Doing so has taken incredible patience for the guard who had a promising start to his Bulls' career after joining the team in a sign-and-trade with the Pelicans in the summer of 2021. He had his first left knee surgery in January 2022, missing the rest of the season, then had another in September 2022 when the pain persisted. That didn't do it either, so in March o...ACL partnering with non-profit to hand out overdose reversal medication this year

Much to my surprise, I have found myself making plans to watch Sunday’s Vikings game, or as I (along with vast swaths of social media) like to call it, Sunday’s Taylor Swift game.I happened to be at a bar with friends during Sunday night’s Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets game and found myself grinning in delight every time the cameras cut to Swift living her best life in a luxury suite. (Thankfully, Touch Tunes was in full swing so I didn’t have to listen to all of the awkward attempts to make TS references by the announcers.) Midway through the game, my pal Stu told me the Chiefs were going to play the Vikings at home on Sunday and, judging by the previous two Chiefs outings, Swift could very well steal the show once again.Ross RaihalaFor those of you not following the saga, here’s the quick version.
