WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a food safety alert Monday regarding a deadly multi-state listeria outbreak. As of Nov. 17, 11 people from seven states were infected with the outbreak strain of listeria. The CDC said one person in California died, and another got sick during pregnancy, forcing a preterm labor. At least 10 people were so sick they required hospitalization, but the CDC notes that the true case count is likely much higher since many people recover without being tested for listeria.Three people in both California and Florida got sick, and one person in each state of Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan and Ohio also got sick.Samples confirming the listeria strain in the 11 patients were collected between Aug. 22, 2018 and Aug. 16, 2023. Confirmed cases ranged from 30 to 80 years of age, with nearly 75% over the age of 65. Does your smartphone expire? AUSTIN (Nexstar) -- As promised, Gov. Greg Abbott is officially endorsing every House Republican who supported his school voucher-like proposal after a group within the GOP banded together with Democrats to kill the governor's legislative priority. "Each of these House Republicans are proven fighters, and I am proud to endorse every one of these strong conservatives who are seeking reelection," Abbott said in a statement. "I encourage Texans to join me in supporting them for re-election so we can pass school choice for all Texas families and continue to build a safer, brighter, and more prosperous Texas of tomorrow."The governor also gave a nod to five state representatives who are not running for reelection, but Abbott said were also essential in passing conservative priorities: Reps. GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN)—Michelle Serrano Gomez canceled her last client for the day at her hair salon, as she said she dealt with intense pain and bleeding. "I was scared, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm going to die," Serrano Gomez said. "I just prayed, 'Oh Lord, help me.'"Serrano Gomez, a working mom of six, was nearing the end of her pregnancy in late October. At age 42, she was set to have a C-Section. She said she's never given birth any other way. On the Monday before a traumatic life-changing event, Serrano Gomez said she went to her doctor, thinking her baby was coming. She said she was told she was having Braxton Hicks contractions, and she wasn't really in labor. Two days later, she would find herself alone in her car, delivering her baby herself. "The 911 operator on the phone said just just go ahead and push, don't keep her in, and I pushed," Serrano Gomez said. "I could feel me tearing and I felt her head come out...I quickly just grabbed her. She was still in her sack. I...Dane Mizutani: Vikings need to hand the keys to young running back Ty Chandler

The duality of football is funny. The sport itself is wildly complex, with so many moving parts on every single play, yet the simplest answer is often the best option. That goes for this version of the Vikings and their underwhelming rushing attack.Frankly, no matter how many hours head coach Kevin O’Connell spends at TCO Performance Center in the coming weeks trying to scheme up the perfect game plan, there won’t be marked improvement until the Vikings stop making this thing way harder than it needs to be. There’s no sense in searching from complex solutions. Not when there’s a simple fix staring everybody in the face. It’s time to hand the keys to young running back Ty Chandler. He’s undoubtedly the best option for the Vikings in the backfield at the moment. That was on display Sunday night as Chandler looked explosive for the Vikings in a frustrating loss to the Broncos. He finished with 10 carries for 73 yards, bringing more juice to the whole op...National Grid employees drop off meal donations
